Empowered to Achieve..

Have you ever been Empowered to Achieve?

As the year 2009 approaches it seems as though each day of the countdown to the new year is providing me with different motivations that are EMPOWERING me to Achieve....

I was in Church yesterday and the pastor empowered me with the phrase "REFUSE to be CONFINED by your CIRCUMSTANCES" and with the world looking like everything is going down hill I was inspired to use the current economic circumstances to my advantage. This new year will serve as the driving force to elevate me to the next level of my success.

My theme for 2009 is Empowered to Achieve...

Seasons Greetings and Happy New Years

Problems...

A Problem is defined as- A situation, matter, or person that presents perplexity or difficulty.

Life is filled with a number of situations that present each of us with many PROBLEMS. Whether its a financial problem, social problem, family problem, or even just a personal problem. We will all face some kind of PROBLEM at sometime in life. The interesting thing is that when we are faced with these problems, everyone around us has a proposed solution to resolve our issue, especially when they have never been faced with that or a similar problem. Have you ever just wanted for the people that providing you with these generic solutions to just handle their own problems first.

See each of us are usually equipped with the necessary tools that are needed to find a solution for the PROBLEM.

Understand that the Solution to your PROBLEM(s) is embedded within the problem and a majority of the time the solution is embedded inside of you. Problems cannot and will not last always and if you can just endure the Problem the solution will not be that far away.

Balance in LIFE

Living in LA with no car has been a humbling experience. Although riding the bus and walking is not my idea of a good time, I am actually grateful for this time with no wheels. This with-out-a-car experience has taught me a few life lessons and has also helped me remember some lessons I learned a while back.

Lessons like getting up early every morning running - or in my case walking. The buses are crowded in the morning and everyone is trying to get to work. If I don't get to the bus stop early, there may not be room for me to ride. We all know that missing the bus or being left out in life is no fun, so I make sure that I'm up early every morning power-walking, because the bus waits on no one.

Lessons like being faithful over a little. Every morning on my walk to the bus stop I tell God that I may not have a car at the moment, but I thank you for these shoes.

Lessons like being grateful and counting your blessings. Every day I look into the faces of people on the bus who just look tired and beaten down by life. I always wonder "what's his story?" or "where has she been?" Then I think that some of these people may have never even owned a car. Maybe riding the bus is all they ever knew. At lease, I knew something different. I knew the feeling of driving my own car, and I'll know it again. I am grateful for that.

Lessons like being hungry enough to walk. I think back to the summer of 2006 when I was interning in Milwaukee, Wisconsin with no car. Everyday I depended on my supervisor to take me to lunch. One day she decided not to go to lunch, and so I starved (not literately of course.) When lunch time came around the next day and my supervisor was no where to be found, I decided that I would take matters into my own hands, and I walked two miles in the summer heat - in a suit - to find something to eat. I remember my co-workers saying they couldn't believe I walked. The walk was uncomfortable of course, but my hunger was stronger than the heat. When you are really hungry for something in life, you'll do things that others won't do, but in the end you'll receive the greater reward.

Life's journey is full of messages and lessons. Things that we can grow and prosper from if we simply take the time to look and appreciate what God is trying to tell us and what he's trying to teach us. I think that maybe discomfort, hardships, and trials are simply courses in life that God has enrolled us in. Some take the time to learn - others complain about how hard the course is. It's up to you to learn the lesson which will ultimately prepare you for the test. No one said the test will be easy, but if you pay attention in class, you will be prepared.

It is truly amazing how these two men are living the BALANCE that life has for this World. Where you may be up someone else is down, and where you are lacking someone else is not.

Seasons are in a Constant Cycle..

Seasons are in a Constant Cycle... Winter, Spring, Summer, Fall and back again to Winter...etc

Have you ever found yourself trying to figure out your life? See Life is similar to the seasons, some moments are COLD taking you out of your comfort zone. Some moments are Warm when things are calm and times are going well. Other moments are HOT where it seems like everything just keeps going wrong. Then we all have COOL moments when things are good, but we have people and various things that fall from our lives and we begin to wonder why?

The Difference between Life's Seasons and the Weather Seasons is that with the weather seasons one always follows the other, allowing us to prepare for the change. With Life, the seasons don't follow any specific order, so the is no way to prepare for the changes.

The best way to prepare for your Life's Seasons is to stay positive at all times, never allow for your current situation to distract you, knowing that the season will only last for a short period of time. We must all walk together as all of our LIVES are Connected...

Life goes at Gods Speed..

Life goes at Gods Speed..

This past week I came across this letter written online by a very good friend of mine and being that today is Thanksgiving I was led to share it with you all. Understand that LIFE GOES AT GODS SPEED, no matter who you are and what you do God is in TOTAL control.

Dear Mom (Written by Jerry Lightfoot),
As I try and come to terms with the fact that you're gone, I find it hard to do. My mind keeps telling me that you're either working late, at choir rehearsal, visiting someone in the hospital, or just out running errands, and you'll be home any minute. I realize that this year has been rough for you. You were in so much pain and it would be selfish of me to want you here under those circumstances. As close as we are I want you to know that you've always been my source of inspiration. I am who I am today because of you. If I accomplish half of what you've accomplished in your life, I'll be successful. You always knew what to say even though it may not have been what I wanted to hear. From all the calls to the text messages, (which I had to teach you how to do by the way....LOL) to the uplifting emails, you were always looking out for me. My question is, "Who is going to do this now that you're gone?" I cherish every moment that we spent together and it is such a blessing that you are my mother. I'm not going to lie and say its been easy since you left because I'm trying to stay strong, but I'm barely holding on. I felt we had so much time left together and it was still so much I wanted to give back to you. But last Saturday you heard the voice of Jesus calling, so you went to sleep on this side and woke up in paradise. I know you're an angel in heaven because you were definitely one on earth. I'll keep you with me every step of the way because my heart will never let you go. Now I dont know exactly how I'm going to mail this off because I dont have heaven's address, maybe its a p.o. box, but anyway something tells me you already got this. The words I love you are not strong enough to express how I really feel, but thats all I know to say. Continue to watch over me until I see you again. I Love You Mom. Your Son

Show your THANKFULNESS Everyday of the Year and Allow for those you love to know how Grateful and Thankful you are on a daily bases.

Happy Thanksgiving

Joy is Essential...

All through life we strive to accomplish many things and to be at the top of all of those things. When all is said and done and we have achieved what we set out for, after having gone through the ups and downs, we receive a certain satisfaction.

Joy is defined as
the emotion evoked by well-being, success, or good fortune or by the prospect of possessing what one desires.

There are many ways to define joy. Joy isn't just a smile or a laugh. Joy is something that is deep within and doesn't leave quickly. When we have the joy of the Lord, we'll know it and so will others. Since joy is given by God and something that He wants us to have, we need to be joyful! In addition to being joyful, we should let others have their joy and not bring them down when they are excited about good things.-Gatrich

"As we fall, we grow...As we grow, we learn...As we learn, we achieve...As we achieve, we gain experiences" -Olokun.

In a time when many are overwhelmed with so many life obstacles, we must remember that JOY is essential. Joy will turn a bad situation into a bearable one and a good day into an awesome day.

Life's Troubles

It is so amazing how one day everything can be in order and just hours into the next day everything turns into shambles. An important factor that we all must understand is not to put much hope in man, but all of our hope in the Lord. Man will paint you such a beautiful portrait, but if the slightest bit of water touches it, it gets damaged or ruined. While the portrait the Lord creates is not damageable and everlasting.

How do we determine what to do when we are faced with difficulties?

This past week I have been dealing with one thing after another and they all seem to overlap each other making things somewhat difficult and overwhelming. I found myself taking a step back and dissecting each issue one at a time and getting to the root of the issue, hence trying to resolve the difficulty.

"Success Is Measured By Personal Growth And Satisfaction"

A way out....

Do you need God to make a way out of no way? The swiftness and surety of your deliverance starts with how you respond to hard times and difficult situations. Hear me when I say that it is not just enough to thank God and honor Him only when you've received a blessing. God wants you to show the extent of your faithfulness and trust in Him even in the midst of going through a challenge. The power of your praise will determine the magnitude of your breakthrough.

Praise is not just clapping your hands or applauding God. It is showing respect, honor, and gratefulness using your whole heart, mind, spirit and body despite your circumstances. Paul and Silas didn't wait until they experienced a breakthrough to praise and thank God. In the midst of difficult circumstances, they praised God and received the breakthrough they desired.

Acts 16:25, 26 (New Living Translation) reveals, "Around midnight Paul and Silas were praying and singing hymns to God, and the other prisoners were listening. Suddenly, there was a massive earthquake, and the prison was shaken to its foundations. All the doors immediately flew open, and the chains of every prisoner fell off!"

Outlook on LIFE

The other I was sitting in my bed wondering why life sometimes seems hard. We are all born into different lifestyles, households, social networks, and with totally different life goals. If God gave us all a different path and the freedom to choose which way we are going to travel, why is it then that many of us are sitting up wondering why life is so HARD at times?

I came to the realization that life is really only as hard as you allow it to be. If you are the kind of person that is always getting hurt by people, you can limit your interaction with people. Just about anything that bothers us can be beaten and overcome, It really just requires a Strong Spirit and for One to be committed to the Will of God and NOT our own will...

Gods Strength is in Our Weakness

How does one get out of a storm when everything seems to be getting rough and unbearable?

There is a word that acts as a Stabilizer and that word is PRAISE. Praise will take you into a spiritual realm, when the wind of your storm is doing its best to knock you down. Praise allows you to remain like a tree that is deeply rooted.

Find your Praise and you will find your ground during your life's storms.

Are You Ready for Your Shift?

Are You Ready for Your Shift?

Have you ever wondered why things look at times as if they couldn't get any worse? Then all of a sudden things start looking better and the final result is positive.

When there is a Shift in store for you during a time when things seem somewhat overwhelming, you must be willing to let go of somethings and maybe even everything so that there is nothing obstructing your Shift Process.

Often enough we want to be elevated in life, but when the time comes for the elevation we do not have room for all that will be given to us on that level cause we are still holding on to things from the past level or stage in life.

Lifes Journey

When does our Journey begin and When will it END?

Yesterday I had lunch with a friend that is about to begin the biggest journey of his life. While sitting there I could only think to myself this young man has something that many people don't want to tap into in their own lives and that would be
PURPOSE.

What is Purpose? Well purpose is defined as something set up as an object or end to be attained.

Many times our purpose in life is obstructed by limitations..."Limitations are a self-imposed form of weakness that we place in our paths, because of the fear we have of accomplishing tasks, objectives, or goals that would require us to move to a level in life outside our comfort zone"
-Olokun

So once again I ask When does your Journey BEGIN and When will it END?

"The Journey to Success Begins by Being INSPIRED by Some Great PURPOSE" -Olokun

Staying True to what you believe...

Why is it that the world makes it so difficult to do the right thing, but so easy to do the wrong thing?

"Understanding where you want to end up is the easy part, Going through the trials and tribulations can also be somewhat easy, Staying determined to not fall into the system that causes one to forget who they are can be difficult"

Today is a wonderful day to find what you like in life and "Just Do It"...

Power

" When you assume the appearance of power, people soon give it to you" -M Claude

Have you ever wondered why certain people can walk into a room and everyone's attention is focused on them?

I find that the above quote can be applied to just about everyone of those persons. Think back to Middle school and High School, when certain groups of kids were deemed popular. What is it that they had accomplished in life that gave them that authority?

Each of us is born with that authority and must be willing to stand on our own two feet determined to receive our GOD given power. No two people are alike and one person is not better than the next, we all have to Identify our inner strength and power to receive all that is due to us.

Getting Elevated...

Experiences elevate your mind to a level that allows for personal growth and development. Many times we only want to retain the good experiences and forget the bad ones. One can only be EMPOWERED by re-evaluating the good and bad, which then allows for the elevation to occur...

Strength In Weakness

Love and Kindness are instrumental parts of living a joy filled life. Encouraging a friend, a stranger, or even a loved one is essential because you will never know if what you do for them could turn their day or life around. In all things put your trust in GOD and give him total control. Strength comes in Weakness…
